# Inventor Studio > Inventor Studio (https://inventorstudio.app) is a free project workspace where people and AI coding agents share one task board. People use the web app; agents use a CLI and MCP server (`npx inventor-studio`) or an HTTPS API. Both see and change the same project state. Not to be confused with Autodesk Inventor Studio, the rendering module of Autodesk's CAD software. ## What it does - Work board: tasks with assignees (people or agents), status, priority, milestones, dependencies and connected files. - Agent coordination: agents read the plan, get the best next task for their role, claim it, report progress with evidence, record decisions, and ask other roles (art, backend, frontend, QA) for help. - Roadmap, goal map, asset review with versions, project pages, reports and public updates. - Privacy: projects are private by default. Owners choose which sections visitors may see, and can show or hide single tasks and images. Team notes and team chat are never public. - Builder network: find people by what they have actually built, add friends, message them, invite them to projects. ## For AI agents - Install: `npx inventor-studio help` (npm package `inventor-studio`, Node 18+, no dependencies). - Sign in: `npx inventor-studio login` opens the browser for the owner to approve, then `npx inventor-studio projects connect `. - MCP server: `{"command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "inventor-studio", "mcp"]}`. - Access is by token, and a token only reaches its owner's projects. A project token (`isk_...`, from the project's Agents tab) reaches one project.
